Eighteen seniors were honored and 18 different swimmers won individual races for the swimming and diving teams on Saturday, as they swept Mount St. Mary’s on Senior Day at Mangione Pool.

The men’s team won 155-113, while the women’s score was 168-100. The teams combined to win 30 of 32 events overall.

Emily Koegl ’20 led both sides with three individual wins. Jimmy Hayburn ’22 broke his own record in the 50-yard butterfly with a winning time of 22.44, and he also claimed the 50 freestyle.

Sung Lee ’22 and Max Verheyen ’23 each had two wins for the men’s team. Lee took the 200 freestyle and 100 fly, while Verheyen won the 100 breaststroke and 100 individual medley.

Matt Voight ’23 claimed first place in the 1000 freestyle, and Reid Hussey ’22 beat out two other Loyola swimmers in the 50 backstroke. Casey Brown ‘22 took the 100 backstroke, while Voight finished second.

Jack Still ’23 swept the diving events, earning 251.85 points in the three-meter dive and 244.42 points in the one-meter dive.

By the time the final events rolled around, both the men’s and women’s teams had already clinched their victories. However, Colin Anderson ‘21, Brendon Kolar ‘21, Brown, and Hussey still closed out the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay.

On the women’s side, Koegl won the 100 fly, 50 fly, then the 100 individual medley. She also swam in the 200 medley relay with Elizabeth Walsh ’22 , Devin Cronin ’20, and Megan Dickey ’21.

Cronin and Dickey both recorded two individual victories as well. Cronin took both the 50 and 100 breaststroke events, while Dickey took the 50 and 100 freestyle. Faith Tyranksi ’22 won the 50 backstroke and took second in the 100 backstroke.

Elizabeth Romano ’23 took the 1000 freestyle in a dominant distance event showing for the Greyhounds, while Walsh won the 200 freestyle.

The two diving events each had a top-3 consisting entirely of Greyhounds. Allison Echeverria ’20 won the one-meter dive over Jessica Stolfi ‘22 and Elizabeth Berta ‘20, while Stolfi took the three-meter dive ahead of Echeverria and Berta.

Senior Day ended with a 200 freestyle relay win by the quartet of Anne Hayburn ‘20, Sophie Jahan ‘22, Walsh, and Dickey.

The Hounds have a couple of weeks to prepare for the Patriot League Championships, which will be hosted by Navy in Annapolis from Feb. 19-22.
