On Saturday, Oct. 11, the Association of Latinx Students (ALAS) held its annual celebration of Latinx Heritage Month: Latin fest in Mcguire Hall.
The Association of Latinx Students fosters awareness of Latinx culture on campus through educational programs, outreach, and interactive events.
This year’s theme was masquerade, bringing thrill and mystery to the celebration. During the event, students enjoyed food, games, prizes, live music and an outstanding performance by the Pasion Dance Team from Towson University.

On Friday, Oct. 3, Loyola University Maryland’s Asian Cultural Alliance (ACA) and Chinese Cultural Club held the Mid-Autumn Festival in McGuire Hall.
McGuire Hall was filled with decorations, games, and food. The event introduced ACA and the Chinese Cultural Club student leaders and allowed attendees to enjoy traditional games such as mahjong and ddakji , along with delicious food.
Festivities continued with a presentation on the legend and history of the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival. The ACA and Chinese Cultural Club closed the event by sharing mooncakes, which symbolize unity and harmony.

On Friday, October 24, the Caribbean Student Union (CSU), along with the African Student Association (ASA), held their annual Glow Out event in the fourth-floor programming room.
This year’s theme was “Back to the 90s”, bringing fashion and throwback music to the event. Students came together for dancing, competitions, raffles, and traditional food provided by ASA and CSU, such as samosas, plantains, jerk chicken, and more.
