On Friday, Nov. 13, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake assisted in the opening of a new, larger ice rink in the Inner Harbor. The new rink has been moved from McKeldin Square to the top of the Harborplace Amphitheatre at 201 E. Pratt Street, which will provide visitors with a waterfront view.
In addition to its relocation, the new rink is 20% larger than previous years, at a total size of 6,000 square feet. In 2014, the Inner Harbor ice rink saw over 20,000 customers, so the increased size will be able to accommodate the large masses of visitors anticipated to vist this holiday season.
The rink has also been renamed Pandora Ice Rink after the Danish jewelry company, which moved its headquarters to Baltimore and will be sponsoring the rink.
After skating, many Inner Harbor establishments are offering discounts upon showing your wristbands from the rink. These businesses include Brio Tuscan Grille, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Chick-Fil-A, Dick’s Last Resort, Encantada, Hard Rock Café, Hats in the Belfry, M&S Grill, Pepper Palace, Rusty Scupper, The Sport Shop and Tir Na Nog.
The rink will be opened through to Jan. 18.
