_DSC5746Calling all fashionistas! The annual Black Student Association (BSA) Fashion Show will be here sooner than you think, and ALANA services wants you to be a part of it. This year’s event will feature the theme “The Black Allure” or the “Black Enchantment,” highlighting different parts of black culture through style, hair, music, the arrangement of clothes, and makeup.

Leah Hill, the director of the show, wants to engage students who are looking to “slay the runway with confidence.” Walking down the runway with a confident attitude and mindset is going to take some practice. After all, practice makes perfect.

Hill informs that BSA models will meet once a week (most likely over the weekend) with their assigned scene leaders who will help perfect their walk and prepare them for the show. These meetings can occur at a time that works best for both the model and their leader.

_DSC5439“The time you put into the fashion show will be worth it, especially when it’s finally March 24, 2017 and you are walking on that white shining stage with the music blasting,” Hill said.

Although the event is not taking place until the spring, Hill and fellow ALANA leaders are looking for models now. This is an amazing opportunity, so whoever is interested should be sure to attend one of the following model calls:

Saturday Oct. 22,10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Reading Room

Sunday Oct. 23, 2-5 p.m. in the Reading Room

Monday Oct. 24, 5-7 p.m. in Avila Lounge

Hill kindly asks potential models to bring a pair of heels with them to the call.

Hope to see you on the runway.
