Meet Ben Higgins, America’s Newest Bachelor

Last month, it was announced that Ben Higgins is the next leading man for the upcoming season of “The Bachelor.” Season 21 of ABC’s fan-favorite show will air on Monday, January 4, 2016, and will include Ben as the main love interest for 25 beautiful women (who are still in the process of being cast, of course).

Ben-Higgins-Instagram-PicturesMost of you may remember Ben from this past season of “The Bachelorette.” The 27-year-old software salesman made it all the way to the 9th week before being sent home by Kaitlyn Bristowe. Heartbroken and without a rose, Ben humbly left. However, he’s back to try and find love once again, and this time around, the odds will be in his favor.

Let’s dive into some details about America’s charming new bachelor. ABC reports that while Ben grew up in the small town of Warsaw, Ind., he currently lives in Denver. This only child strives to fulfill a marriage just like his parents, who have been married for an incredible 34 years. Luckily for him, he will soon have the opportunity to do just this.

Religion is an important aspect of Ben’s life. While in college, the young Christian volunteered at the faith-based International Volunteer Headquarters in Cusco, Peru. He also worked as an intern at the Warsaw Community Church. Ben even has a quote from the Bible tattooed on his torso. This passage, which is taken from the Old Testament Proverbs 16:3, says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” It’s said that Ben may be the most clean-cut guy to appear on the show since born-again virgin and Christian, Sean Lowe, who starred in season 17.BenH

Ben loves to play basketball, hike and fish. In addition to all of this, he’s an avid traveler. He has made his way through the jungles of Bolivia, hiked the infamous trails of Machu Picchu and has even worked at a zoo in Peru. His love for different cultures and his desire to explore is truly fascinating. Perhaps we’ll get to see him incorporate some of these adventurous desires into his dates on “The Bachelor.”

Does Ben truly believe that he’ll find love on yet another season of this romantic-reality show? Apparently, he definitely does. He shared with E! News in an exclusive interview, “Doing this experience, you come in skeptical and you walk out of the experience, I did at least, realizing it’s a very real thing. True emotions do evolve and it does give you the opportunity to meet somebody that you could potentially spend the rest of your life with.” Congratulations, Ben! We can’t wait to watch you find love.
