Mid terms are sadly underway, and as we’re getting ready to go back to having our essential day breaks filled with television genius, some of our favorite shows are finally coming back to us. With the impressive lineup of returning shows and promises for unbelievable “game changers,” TV for mid season 2014 is looking better than ever.

To begin, you should probably catch up on the shows that have already come back to us, including favorites from Netflix and Comedy Central. First on our list, we have the return of the Netflix original series, House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey. Not only did this political thriller’s second season make its return to Netflix on Valentines Day, but the entire second season is there for you to watch. For another “corporate” favorite, watch House of Lies, starring Kristen Bell and Don Cheadle. The show follows a group of management consultants who stop at nothing in order to get business done, and its third season came out on January 12. We also have a less conventional approach to the corporate scene in Workaholics, in which three college dropouts hustle through their unconventional ways. This Comedy Central favorite premiered its fourth season on January 22.

Lastly, we have two of TV’s biggest hits. Shameless, starring Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy, provides never-ending plot twists and unbelievable stories of this one-of-a- kind family that Gallagher did not disappoint in the fourth season, which premiered January 12. AMC’s The Walking Dead is also filled with unbelievable stories; this time, it’s filled with Zombies and post-apocalyptic war zones. The show premiered its fourth season Sunday, February 9.

So, you may have missed the first half of these mid season hits, but we still have a handful of returning shows that have yet to grace us with their entertainment. The first being the all time favorite law-based show, Suits. Starring Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, Suits provides full suspense, romance and drama that you would never want or expect from a show based on the lives of top-NYC lawyers, one of them not even technically licensed. The show will premier on Thursday, March 6, on USA at 9 p.m. Mad Men also gives us business room drama, following the lives of “go-getter” businessmen at an advertising agency. Premiering on AMC on Sunday, April 13, you won’t want to miss the return of this hit starring Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss.

Next is Hannibal, the psychological thriller that had everyone on his or her toes last season, and is returning for its second season on February 28 on NBC at 10 p.m. The show not only gives a day-to-day dramatic edge to the story that we all know and love (or fear), but this show, which stars Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen, has received so many critically acclaimed reviews, that it simply cannot be missed. Last, but definitely not least, we have the show-stopping “rookie of the decade” HBO show, Game of Thrones. The show has not only changed the way we view fantasy TV, but it is also the recipient of a countless amount of awards and titles. Kit Harington, among an extensive list of talented actors, will finally come back to our TV and computer screens on Sunday, April 6, on HBO at 9 p.m.
