The Tanner house is getting a whole lot more full. On Friday, Feb. 26, a spin off of ABC’s iconic show “Full House” will air on Netflix. The new program, “Fuller House,” is a 13-episode series produced by Warner Bros. and John Stamos, who formally played Jesse Katsopolis on the show. Beloved characters that will make an appearance include sisters D.J. Tanner-Fuller (played by Candace Cameron Bure) and Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), Becky Katsopolis (Lori Loughlin), dad Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), and family friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier). Unfortunately, however, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who shared the role of youngest daughter, Michelle, didn’t agree to come back on the show for reasons unknown, though PEOPLE reports that perhaps it’s because the pair doesn’t feel comfortable appearing on screen, since they haven’t been acting for the past 17 years.
“Full House” portrayed the story of Danny Tanner, a widower who raised his three daughters, D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle with the help of his best friend and his brother-in-law. Together, they undergo the struggles, laughs and heart-warming moments that come with raising a
family.
Similar to the plot of “Full House,” “Fuller House” begins with a widowed D.J. who receives the help of her best friend Kimmy and sister Stephanie to help her raise her three sons Jackson, Max, and Tommy in her childhood home.
The first episode will feature a reunion with most of the original cast and will introduce the general storyline of the spinoff. It will be interesting to see how D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy act as grown ups, while viewers are also eager to see three daughters, who were brought up by three men, attempt to now raise three sons – talk about a gender role reversal. The show will include some infamous catchphrases, wonderful cast chemistry, and even Mr. Woodchuck, Joey’s lovable puppet.
Due to the fact that this show will be aired on Netflix, all 13 episodes will be available at one time, unlike the original “Full House.” This highly anticipated spinoff will continue the storyline of the Tanner family and will likely be full of quotable lines, laughter and memories. Once again, viewers will feel like they’re a part of this family as the series launches and continues to warm the hearts of many. Will this be my new Netflix binge? Well, as Michelle would say, “You got it, dude.”
