Hi Hounds! Welcome back to Loyola! Here at The Greyhound, we’re so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to get back into action after our summer break.
My name is Marie Bosslett and I’m the Editor-In-Chief for the 23-24 school year. I’m a senior from Edison, New Jersey studying Communication (Ad/PR and Media & Society), Marketing, and Writing. I’m so lucky to be leading a fantastic team of editors with my Managing Editor (and right-hand woman) Jordan Durkin. You can meet the rest of our amazing executive board here!
The Greyhound has made some amazing strides in the last year. We’re super proud of our program’s success, especially as we have bounced back from the effects of our Covid semesters. We had a 200% increase in the number of articles published, and our student participation grew by about 150%. Engagement with our social media accounts has also skyrocketed with our Instagram increasing in profile visits by 5,100%. We also had the privilege of launching an updated website, collaborating with fellow on-campus organizations, and diversifying our content with new categories like Multimedia, Travel, and Health & Safety. Thank you to all of our readers and the Loyola community for the constant support!
We’ve got some great things coming including a reinvented office space on campus, new Review and Sports Analysis article categories, and our first print edition of the newspaper in 10 years. Our weekly meetings are on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. in Beatty Hall 114. We’re always looking for new writers, photographers, and team members. Be sure to keep up with us on The Bridge, follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and let us know what kind of content you want to see. We hope to hear from you this year.
Best wishes this academic year from all of us here at The Greyhound – Strong News, Well Written!
