Monmouth Defeats Women’s Soccer

Monmouth+Defeats+Womens+Soccer

Following a rainout on Monday night, Monmouth (2-0 overall) defeated Loyola (0-2 overall) on Tuesday afternoon at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Monmouth outshot Loyola 14-11, while 8 of those 14 shots were on goal.

Graduate Senior Colleen Folan was busy with a game-high 6 saves for the Greyhounds.

Monmouth Junior goalkeeper Sydney Lavan had 4 saves to preserve a shutout.

Junior Erica Murphy scored Monmouth’s first goal 16:14 minutes into the game and was assisted by Sophmore Sophie Centi.

Monmouth’s second goal was an unassisted goal from Redshirt Junior Rachel Ivanicki 62:08 into the game.

Fouls were 7 for Monmouth, 3 for the Greyhounds.

Loyola’s next game will be August 28 at Temple. That game signals the start of three straight road games for the Greyhounds at Temple. Cornell, and St. Francis PA).
