Hopkins lax player Jeremy Huber found dead in dorm

The Baltimore area received shocking news Monday morning as Johns Hopkins freshman Jeremy Huber, a defenseman on the school’s lacrosse team, was found dead in his dormitory according to a Baltimore Sun article by Edward Lee and Justin George. He was just 18.

Huber’s body was found in his bedroom in Wolman Hall on the 3300 block of North Charles Street in the Johns Hopkins Homewood neighborhood, according to university and police officials.

Police did not find any evidence of criminal activity. An autopsy is pending.

“We are stunned and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Jeremy Huber,” Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse coach Dave Pietramala said in a statement. “Jeremy was a wonderful young man who was extremely well-liked by his teammates and the members of our lacrosse family.”

According to the Sun article, Huber was the salutatorian at West Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas.

Hopkins is preparing for the 2015 lacrosse season, and the Blue Jays open up on Feb. 7 when they host UMBC.
