How did you first get started in music?
I heard albums by bands like Kiss, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. After that, I picked up a guitar, found two friends and started a band.
Who are your biggest influences?
Metal, punk, electro. Mainly good music – you name it.
How did you all meet?
We’ve actually known each other since kindergarten. Sami, our guitar player lives in Finland and has lived in Germany for a while. When we needed a guitar player, he joined.
How have you managed to stay in the music business for over 30 years?
We believe in what we do. It is very simple (laughs). We love playing music and meeting fans from all over the world.
Why did you release a live concert movie?
To bring the Kreator mayhem to your living room! And you know that you deserve it!
What is most important to the band as you travel the world?
(Laughs) To get enough sleep and to have as much fun as possible. Making new friends is also always nice too.
Describe your latest album, “Phantom Antichrist”.
Brutality, melody, and riffs that you will have a hard time figuring out.
What is your personal favorite song off of the album?
I love the whole album. But the title track [Phantom Antichrist] is killer!
Why should college students listen to this band?
Our shows are a pure massacre and since 1985, we spread love and peace. If you are into metal, you are welcomed to join the Kreator family.
