Senior Nai Brown scored a team-high 11 points in her last home game on Wednesday, as the Loyola women’s basketball team fell to Holy Cross, 65-37, on Senior Night at Reitz Arena.
After being recognized before the game for her accomplishments on and off the court, Brown shot 4-for-11 from the field to lead the team. Junior Jeneh Perry scored nine points and led the team with five rebounds.
Brown and junior Colleen Marshall were the only Loyola players to record field goals in the first half, combining for 14 of Loyola’s 15 first-half points. Marshall finished the game with nine points and four steals.
The Greyhounds (7-21, 5-12 Patriot League) were only down 28-15 at halftime, but the Crusaders (14-16, 10-7) opened the second half with a 16-4 run to put the game away.
Raquel Scott led the way for Holy Cross with a double-double, scoring 14 points along with 11 rebounds.
Loyola concludes its regular season on Saturday at Navy for a 7 p.m. contest. Regardless of Saturday’s outcome, the Greyhounds will finish ninth in the Patriot League standings and will travel to either Colgate or Lafayette in the first round of the conference tournament.
