On Friday, Nov. 15, The LGBTQ+ Experience held their annual Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil on the Humanities porch from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Members of the Loyola community shared their stories and memorated the lives lost due to anti-transgender violence. The vigil served not only as a space of mourning, but also as a call to action to work together to create a world free of fear and anti-transgender violence.
The event was followed by a resource fair featuring on-campus organizations such as Campus Ministry, the Loyola Clinical Center, the Counseling Center and more. Local organizations such as The Center for LGBTQ Health Equity were also present, offering resources and information about advocacy movements done in favor of equal health access for transgender individuals in Maryland.
