On Thursday Sept. 26, Loyola University Maryland’s Student Health Services held their first annual vaccine clinic of the fall semester in McGuire Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Student Health Center partnered with Safeway pharmacy to allow students to receive flu shots and COVID vaccines.
Vaccines will be free for most insured students, and uninsured students will be able to get flu shots for a $20 fee payable to the Student Health Center.
With the rise of flu & COVID cases within the student community during the fall, vaccine clinics serve as an important resource for students on campus to stay protected for their semester.
Christie Sleeth, office manager for Student Health Services emphasized the importance of the clinics and why they happen in the fall.
“This is the best time to get your flu and your COVID vaccine because this will protect you all through the fall and into the spring semester, so you want to make sure that you’re completely covered.”
Vaccine clinics will continue throughout the fall. Next upcoming dates will be Oct. 8, Oct. 26, & Nov. 6.
