Creative Alliance presents Adeline featuring Peachface

Creative Alliance is an organization in downtown Baltimore that provides support for growing artists. The goal of this center is to provide artists with a comfortable atmosphere full of personal expression and inspiration. The center not only brings underground artists to Baltimore, but it gives the local community a place where they can enjoy new music. Creative Alliance has the appearance of an old movie theater from its exterior, but on the inside, it is newly renovated with friendly volunteers.

On Sept. 29, the Creative Alliance introduced Adeline, an up-and-coming bass player from France. She has toured globally. However, it was her first time performing in Baltimore. In the past, Adeline has collaborated with many artists such as Anderson Paak, Chromeo, Big Freeda, and others. Baltimore locals, fans, and supporters of the Creative Alliance came to watch the performance. Most of the audience was there to enjoy the show and watch people make music, despite not being familiar with every song.

“I come to Creative Alliance a lot, even if it is just an escape from the long work day. I like the atmosphere to let loose and enjoy music,” one audience member said.

Even the opener, Peachface, an indie pop singer, had the crowd in awe at her performance. Peachface set the scene and then introduced Adeline, who stunned the crowd. The opener helped set the tone of what the atmosphere would be like for the rest of the concert. Like most concerts, Adeline did in fact have a setlist, but she did not follow it entirely. Adeline and her band played funk jazz songs, but then kept freestyling off each other to create new, lively beats and sounds for the crowd to enjoy.

Adeline said to the crowd:

“My new EP has come out during a weird time in the world. Although, it has given me a new appreciation for my music and what music is to me.”

She shared some new songs off of her EP, “Adi Oasis,” and she played some of her personal favorites off of her other albums.

Creative Alliance inspires and supports new artists by providing them with an intimate environment to perform and bring in new listeners. These performers all have a love for music and, with the help of Creative Alliance, hope to get further in the music industry.
