Attack on Ohio State University

Attack+on+Ohio+State+University

At around 9:50 a.m. Monday morning, eleven people were injured on the campus of Ohio State University when a student drove his car into a group of pedestrians and then attacked several people with a butcher knife. A campus police officer shot the attacker, Abdul Artan, dead within about a minute.

Ohio State University went into a 90-minute shelter-in-place warning where students were advised to “Run Fight or Hide.” Students barricaded themselves into classrooms and huddled inside closed spaces around campus.

Eight of the victims were believed to be in stable condition at the hospital, while another was in critical condition but expected to survive. Law enforcement officials are certain that the attacker acted alone, but a clear motive has not yet been released.
